In gathering inspiration for summer, I browsed The Sartorialist and Garance Dore. After losing myself in the archives, I collected some great ideas.
All of these women have something in common. They have different body types, different hair, and different outfits. But they all exude confidence and a strong sense of style - through the way they assemble a look out of the unexpected, how they flaunt color or contrast, and the fact that they all seem completely comfortable in what they're wearing. Let's start with my favorite...
Ageless, timeless, and undeniably unique. But also particularly smart, sophisticated, and clean. I tend to prefer that sort of thing. Hence my undying love of Hache.
Very Italian, very effortless. You get the feeling this is a well-worn favorite in her summer wardrobe.
Speaking of Italian. She could exist in so many different fashion eras.
I'm pretty sure this woman jumped right out of a classic novel about summering on the beaches of France.
An unexpected combination that totally works. And this skirt reminds me so much of our Groa dyed skirt.
Tailored, feminine, classic. She could also have existed in another era. Recognizing a theme here?
This one is about attitude and accessories. She's turned her clothing into a clean palette for accessories that seem to really represent her.
Honestly, I would never wear this dress. I wouldn't really consider it in a store. But, on her, it's refreshing.
Another refreshing shot of color and contrast.
School girl chic. This look never really goes out of style.
Apparently, Giovanna looks great every day of the year. And who would think to throw that knit layer over a shirt dress or metallic pants? This lady.
